The verse focus for this challenge #150 is"The veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom." Matthew 27:51

Just a little piece of what PeggySue wrote that really does an excellent job of teaching this verse and the powerful significance of the temple veil being torn at Christ's crucifiction, she writes, "When Jesus willingly gave himself up as an atoning sacrifice on the cross, and took the weight of the sin of the world on his shoulders, he opened the way for anyone, Jew or Gentile, to enter into a relationship with God. He tore the veil in two—sin separates us from God no longer, as long as we accept that sacrifice."

The challenge is to use a torn paper technique in your artwork.  I love the imagery of the very thick, heavy separating veil being torn at Christ's death, so I wanted to recreate a 'tearing' of 'curtain' look in my card, which uses Inspired Stamps ( EYE ON THE SPARROW, PRAYER, HLO: GIRL PRAYING, HIS CROSS), Bo Bunny paper, and CTMH embellishments for the most part:

Today's post is really a quick question for you!!  What is the best day AND time for YOU to take a cardmaking, scrapbooking, mixed media, or other crafty class?  (so a Tuesday morning, Friday afternoon, or Saturday night, etc?)

I've been asked to teach some classes this fall at various locations and was asked what days/times I could teach, and want to make sure I am meeting the needs of those TAKING the classes so I thought I would ask my blogging friends!

Here's how I go about determining WHAT paper to use.  I gather papers OR I color my character first.  In this case, I colored my HLO: Winter Girl  character first and then organized papers that matched her:

(for some reason the photoediting program I used made her a greenish hue, but you can get the picture.  There are dark blue, light blue, and a lime green in her coloring, so I have those papers.  I also wanted a 'red' and this pinky red patterned paper went well with the others, so I chose it.

In order to put Scripture in front of an image, you want to stamp the image in a lighter color, or as I've done below with a deep purple, stamp it the first time then don't reink and stamp again to get a 'lighter version':

 You'll see the dark purple with the dark black is just a mess in the first one, but the 2nd generation stamped purple works well with this FRIENDSHIPS FLOWERS set.   I did this with the tree in my tag here;

Christmas Card using scrap papers: Christmas In July with Inspired Stamps!

 Hello friends!
Since the last couple of cards have had lots of details and embellishments, I wanted to share a card that I just used scraps to make!  Here is a card that would be great to make in batches, maybe changing the colors up if you want each card to look a little different!  Super simple, yet enough layers and embellishments to dress it up a bit!

2 Weeks of Christmas In July with Inspired Stamps starts TODAY!!

Today I want to share the first post of our 2 weeks of celebrating Christmas In July here at Inspired Stamps!  This THURSDAY we will be having a TAG BLOGHOP with our talented Design Team who are creating some WOWZIE Christmas Tags to inspire you and help you start the creating season strong this year!!  There will be a giveaway too, that you won't want to miss!!

Here is a 6x6 card I made to start us off using one of our most popular sets:  NATIVITY

The other Inspired Stamp is a circle stamp from our 1.5 inch Circle: Christmas sets.
I used Spellbinders die cuts and Bo Bunny papers along with some miscellaneous flowers and lace I had. Distress Inks and CTMH mocha dots finish it up with a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the tag.:

I like to decorate the inside of my cards and plan to put a photo of my family in the top part of the card and write a message below the sentiment.  I don't know if you've seen this stamp lately, but the Made by... stamp we sell is super important when you put a lot of time in your cards to make sure they know not to throw this card out!  It's only $3.99 and I use mine all the time:
