Contest!!: What fall or Christmas stamp design would YOU like to see? You could win 2 sets of YOUR IDEA if we make it into a stamp set this fall!!

Hello friends!
We have a contest going from NOW through Wednesday July 23rd midnight EST where YOU can win 2 FREE STAMPSETS (one for you and one for you to share!)!!  But not just ANY stamp sets...ones YOU have left as a comment for here and/or on our FB page sharing what Scripture, Image, Sentiment or Character YOU'D like to see us create into a stamp set this fall!!  Here are the only 3 things to keep in mind:

1.  You must leave your idea (one comment per household only) either here on this post or on our Inspired Stamps Facebook page (IF YOU HAVE 2 IDEAS YOU MAY LEAVE ONE HERE AND ONE ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE!!) by Wednesday, July 23rd at midnight!

2. You better your chances to win if we DO NOT ALREADY HAVE your idea made into a stampset (for example, for fall entries, we already have the Scripture shown in the above stamp set FALL GRATITUDE so we will probably not create new stamps using the same Scripture)

3. The winning idea must somehow be appropriate for a FALL/AUTUMN card OR a CHRISTMAS CARD (please no Halloween).  Feel free to include our characters, His Little Ones and Hymn Girls, in your ideas!!

WE WILL ANNOUNCE THE WINNER(S) ON THURSDAY JULY 24TH'S DESIGN TEAM POST WHICH ALSO HAPPENS TO BE A CHRISTMAS CARD BLOG HOP!!  BE SURE TO STOP BACK BY TO SEE IF YOU WON!!

Here are some wonderful DT creations for today's DT THURSDAY post using some of our newest stamp sets:
Here is a beautiful card by Kary using one of our $3.99 Single Scripture Stamps:  ROMANS 5:1 and a clever use of part of our HYMN GIRLS: PATRIOTIC GIRL WITH STAR!!

Patty is up next with this lovely lace-filled beauty using Single Scripture Stamp: Romans 8:31.

Deneen's card above is frame-worthy!  Love her use of HYMN GIRLS: SUMMER FLIP FLOPS with the 1"Circle Sentiments (happy birthday)!  She also used a flower from the stamp set in our Hymn Line:  HYMN: Mushrooms and Leaves and created the sentiment CELEBRATE from our LABELMAKER ALPHABET set
Belinda used our BACKGROUND STAMPS in the back of this beautiful tag card!  She also used Single Scripture PSALM 31:24--so very pretty!
Shanta made this colorful creation using one of our brand new SINGLE STAMPS called THINKING ABOUT YOU (2x2)!  So pretty!
Chere's card above just really says so much!  Such a great use of inks in the Inspired Stamps sets:  HYMN: Earth and Weather and Single Scripture Stamp  GENESIS 1:1!!  Love it!

Head over to our online store to see the stamps we DO have, then come back and leave your comment below with YOUR IDEA for a new FALL or CHRISTMAS stamp set below!!

Lesson 2: Memorizing Scripture the first week

Hello friends!
I have really been having a great time working on memorizing GENESIS CHAPTER ONE!!  Today I want to show you some of the pages I created and the decoration of my GENESIS CHAPTER 1 SCRIPTURE book!  If you haven't read about memorizing scripture from the previous posts, be sure to go there first by clicking HERE

I used the technique described in THIS POST to create my album front and back.  I decided to use a mixed media book and cut the watercolor pages, mat them in black, and put them in so I can have some room to create more of a visual to help me memorize the verses:
The photos do not due this book justice...it's just an explosion of colors and texture!  This is the front and below is the back, followed by some close ups I took to try to better show the color/texture:

And here are the first few pages of my book:
I can go back when I get all the pages completed and see if I want to add anything to these pages, but this part of Genesis really lends itself to simple.

We had a great question from VALERIE that I wanted to share the answer to here so all can benefit.  Her question was concerning once you memorize the chapter, you will know the first half much better than the last half due to the consistent repetition of the first part.  So what are recommendations for being solid in memorizing the second half of the chapter?

The key to remembering the entire chapter once you've memorized it, is to continue reciting the entire chapter a few times a week.  So yes, by day 35 you will certainly have the first half better memorized than the last half, but if you continue to recite that chapter a few days a week in its entirety, by month two or three the entire chapter will be well-established in your memory.  The addage 'use it or lose it' really comes into play when we are trying to get something from short term memory into our long term memory.  I have a great example of this.  I know the words to the poem: Ode To Joy by heart in German even today, and I memorized it 25 years ago.  Why do I know it?  Because I had practiced it for months in high school for a German competition!  It still is in my long-term memory, with emphasis and pauses exactly how I learned it then!  So hang in there, Bible-memorizers....you CAN DO THIS!!

We have our DESIGN TEAM day of artwork Thursday so be sure to pop back over and see us!
Let me know if you have any other questions, comments, etc. about Scripture Memorization below!!
Blessings,
Antoinette
