A photo for the awesome OWH elves to take to the OWH blog!
Hello Friends and welcome to a VERY MERRY post!!
As many of you know, I have been a proud Army wife for 22 years! When my husband was deployed for a year in Iraq last year, he would talk about these great home-made cards they got there. It wasn't until after he was home that I ran across the Operation Write Home blog and BOY was I excited!! There are several AMAZING women whom you can actually mail cards FOR soldiers AND for SOLDIERS to mail HOME to a loved one (as they say, there are no Hallmark stores during their deployment overseas!!). Then, Jan Hunnicutt was on our Inspired Stamps first Design Team--she's very active with OWH, and encouraged me to get involved! This is such and ENCOURAGEMENT to our troops AND their families so I encourage each of you to get involved!
OWH is having a BLOGHOP today, October 1st, using CHRISTMAS CARDS as their theme: Here's my project, a Gatefold Card:
It opens up like a gate and you see this:
I put the place to write out a personal greeting on the back of the card:
