Operation Write Home Blog Hop plus GIVEAWAYS!

Hello friends!
This Memorial Day Weekend we celebrate all of those soldiers and families stationed across the globe and here stateside, those serving now and all those who have served before!  We all here at Inspired Stamps want to say a special THANK YOU to all of you who have served, are serving, are about to serve, and of course the many families who have loved ones serving or have served!!

I have been an Army wife for 23 years and my Army husband and I  have raised two children who know what it's like to move!  We have moved 18 times in 23 years, lived in many states and 5 years in Europe, been through deployments before email was available and a phone call every so often was our only way to communicate except for snail mail! Most recently, 2 years ago, we got to experience Skype as my husband was deployed to Iraq for a year.  While there, he was unaware of Operation Write Home, but would have loved to have this wonderful organization's cards!

I was introduced to Operation Write Home last summer when Jan Hunnicutt (who does the Midweek Throwdown challenges over at the OWH blog) became one of Inspired Stamps very first Design Team members!  I love that they organize cards to go to the servicemen (so many don't get mail often from loved ones!).  But equally amazing is the cards that are sent to the service members to send home to their own family members!  I would have loved to receive one of these cards!!  What a special service this is!!

So today Inspired Stamps is participating in the blog hop!  And offering the 25%off special in honor of all who make cards for service members and their families at our online store.

We were asked to choose a sketch to follow and here is what we created using Inspired Stamps and sketch #26:
I just found honeycomb paper at Archivers and Joann's and I LOVE IT!  I cut out a heart that opens up when you open the card!  Next to the heart is one of our Inspired Stamps military characters called His Little Ones: Soldier Boy.  I thought this would be a cute way to make the INSIDE of the card show it's from the soldier!  What a sweet surprise!
I wanted to add a photo from a tutorial I shared in coloring our military characters, but this post is going to get too long and you have lots more to see, so here is a picture of some of the $4.99 HLO characters followed by the Copic Markers I use to color the soldiers:

Would you like to win one of the Soldier Stamps you see above?  All you have to do is leave us a comment about which one you like BEST and we'll choose a few winners from the comments and announce them in Monday's Memorial Day Artwork Post here on the blog!  Be sure to come back then to see if you win and then claim your prize by emailing us!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be sure to head over to the online store and see all the military and Scripture stamps we have while our 25%off your TOTAL PURCHASE sale is still on:
