Easter Cards + Winner announced from New Stamp Release Post!

 Hello Friends,

It is TIME to begin making those Easter cards!  There are two times a year, in particular, where we get to share Jesus with those we love through a 'holiday card' and it's usually well-received, even by the most resistant to Jesus and Scripture that we know:  Christmas and Easter.  It is a time to get Scripture into cards because we know that 'faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of God', so join me in making cards with God's Word in them and sending them to those who love the Lord as encouragement and fellowship, and those who have yet to know Him!

I will start us off this week with a card I made that uses our brand new HYMN GIRLS: MARCH, who is holding a cross next to her heart.  I simply took some distress ink in tye dye and sponged the left and right side of her quickly to give her color (love these new Hymn Line stamps that are THAT easy to add color to and use!).  I also used Inspired Stamps: ELEGANT EASTER for the outside verse and the main sentiment inside.  I used BIND AND STITCH for a stitched look around the outside of the pieces.  I always add the Scripture that gives the gospel in a card to those who do not know Him...'for it is the power of God unto salvation' (Romans 1:16).  This stamp is one of the Single Scripture Stamps: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.  All of these stamps and more  can be found under the EASTER category on the online store by clicking here:

 In the piece at the inside top of my card I used Momento ink: London Fog and stamped one time on a piece of scratch paper and then the 2nd time without reinking to get the 'shadow' effect of the 3 crossed above the stamped Scripture (shown above)  I inked all my edges in this card with Distress Ink: Tye Dye.

 

This is the sentiment that comes on the ELEGANT EASTER stampset and I love using it!

I found these great wooden plaques for under a dollar each at Michaels!  I decided to make sure Scripture plaques with them and had so much fun, I seriously could not stop!  I will be going to buy out my local Michaels of these amazing finds to make as gifts for friends!

Here's what I did to make them:

 The one on the right above is how they come in a very pale wood.  I used Distress Ink in Tea Die directly to the wood below:

 Then I used the Walnut Stain with my sponge dauber around the edges, on the top and bottom edges below:

 Then I took my paint brush and used water to blend it in to give me the color I wanted on the wood: 

 The finished products came out really well (the tag is the Vintage Tag die cut from Magnolia) I got at my local Scrapbook store and the verse is from the Inspired Stampers Favorite Collection #1:

Here are more that I did (I told you I couldn't stop!  Wouldn't these make great wedding, new home or even Mothers/Fathers day presents?!  And under a dollar!) and yes, you can use Momento black in to stamp directly onto the wood as I did in the crosses from the ELEGANT EASTER STAMP SET here:

 The colored flowers I used from the THINKING OF YOU stamp sets flowers in these tags.  The verse is from FALL GRATITUDE:

 The number 2013 is from our LABELMAKER ALPHABET and the verse is one of our $3.99 single verse sets 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 the Gospel
