12 Weeks of Christmas Tutorials with His Little Ones Characters: WEEK 4: 4" glass ornaments!

Hello friends!

Ok, this little His Little Ones stamp set is the HLO: angel stamp...and he is so brand new he is not even in the Inspired Stamps store until November 7th when he will debut as one of our new release stamps!!  So you are getting a SNEAK, sneak peek!!  But he was so perfect for my project today, I just HAD to share him with you early!!  And HLO: ANGEL stamp will be the giveaway to one person who comments on this week 4 tutorial (either here or on the facebook page!)---announced in next week's week 5 tutorial!

I have had a couple sets of these 4" ornaments laying around for a long time, knowing I wanted to put a stamped His Little Ones scene in them one day...and today's the day!:

You will want to have:
1.  the flat 4" circle ornaments (as shown above, they aren't completely flat, but have more flatted sides to them than the round)
2.  a colored His Little One stamped character with separate inked phrase (or another stamped image of similar size 2x3--our Single Scripture stamps (2x2) work great in here too...just put one Scripture back to back with another Scripture, then when it turns you can see the other Scripture :o)
3.  clear tape
4.  inside decor (I have feathers for my angel's back and long glitter pieces sprinkled in to represent snow or clouds...you could put in a piece of pine, mini pine cones, buttons, etc.)

First thing I did was to put the feathers inside and tape them to the back to hold them in place (feathers first, then tape....or the feathers won't go in as they get stuck on the tape)
Then color your His Little Ones character (I used Copic markers for the head, but STICKLES glitter for the body, feet, and wings and a little yellow Stickles for the hair along with light Copics), cut him out and roll him in  (He is not colored in the sample below):

Once He is in you put a little clear tape on the front of the feathers and use tweezers to put him in place and smooth him out so he's not rounded.  I added my phrase 'oh holy night' from the Inspired Stamps VINTAGE CHRISTMAS stamp set and glitter at this point and used a clean, dry paint brush to wipe the glitter off his face and the front of the ornament glass so he is better seen:
I wish you could seen his feathers in better view but I found out through much trial and error that getting a photo of such a reflective ornament is NOT an easy task so this photo was the best I could get!

I hope you enjoyed this half as much as I enjoyed creating it!  I cannot put this stamp set away, and know he will be well loved by many upon his release in the online store November 7th!

MAXINE D YOU won week 3's $10 online store credit!  Congratulations!  You have until next week's post to email us to claim your prize:  inspiredstamps@gmail.com (be sure to let us know what email you are registered with in our online store so we can get that right in for you!)

Up first is Kary, using one of our Summer new releases:  His Little Ones: Girl with Present and the words are from the POINSETTIA set:
Next up is Deneen!  I can FEEL the crisp air just by looking at her beautiful card!  The background stamp is the NAMES OF JESUS stampset (a 4x6 stamp), the tree is from the ASK, SEEK, KNOCK set:
Chere (Here) and Belinda (below Chere's card) both used our popular 1.5 inch Christmas Circles stampset:
Belinda:
Patty used the RETIRING HLO: Christmas Boy stamp, which you can find in the clearance pack through November 3 only:
And Jamie's beautiful card also used the 1.5 inch Christmas Circles along with His Little Ones: Winter Girl:
Such a beautiful display, ladies!   I know they have inspired me to get started on my own Christmas cards!

12 Weeks of Christmas Tutorials with His Little Ones characters: Week 3

Hello friends!
We get a number of emails from crafters who do not enjoy coloring, but love our His Little Ones characters!  Today's post is dedicated to them as well as all who enjoy a nice, quick, craft---VINTAGE CIRCLE TAGS!

The key is to use a distressed color of ink.  I chose the Ranger Distress Ink: Walnut color.  I used it for sponging around the circle as well as stamping the letters, verses, and character stamps.  First, I got out my bag of circle tags with a kraft cardstock base:

Next, I used the Walnut ink to stamp my Inspired Stmaps: His Little Ones character stamps and the words with Labelmaker Alphabet.  Then I sponged random dark areas of walnut ink to give the tags their vintage look (note:  if you don't get a solid stamped image, it adds to the vintage look):
I attached these to a paper treat bag, but you could make a set of these as gifts for a friend, put them on Christmas or classroom presents, or even hang them on your Christmas tree (Many of our 2x2 Single Scripture Stamps would fit on a number of circle tag sizes!):

We are giving away prizes each week of our 12 Weeks of Christmas Tutorials!  Just leave a comment on this project below or on our Facebook page and we will choose/announce our winner of a $10 store credit in next weekend's post!

This week's winner is...

12 Weeks of Christmas Tutorials with His Little Ones Characters: week 2: Clearly the best dish

Hello friends!
Today we are going to share with you one of my personal favorite Christmas tutorials because you can do this all year long and all it will cost you is the initial cost of the CLEAR plates and Sharpie Paint oil-based markers (and maybe not even that if you use TIP #2!).

First we want to thank everyone for commenting on Week 1st post here and on the Facebook page!  We are so happy you are joining us each week to see what is next!  Our winner of the His Little Ones' stamp set:  Thankful Boy plus the Homemade stick sheet is:

Linda who commented on the blog (there was only one Linda this time so that makes it easy!)

Congratulations Linda!  Email us a inspiredstamps@gmail.com by Sunday, October 20 with your mailing address and we will get your prizes right out to you!

On to today's Post!

Here is ONE of the finished projects:
And here is what you need:
Your favorite Inspired Stamp (or other stamp...I prefer clear stamps for this and use a piece of acetate to stamp them instead of a block since you can get better coverage)
StazOn ink (I used black)
Sharpie Paint Pens (I use oil based)
a CLEAR plate (the plate above is sitting on a white doily, but it's clear (you'll see why in a minute)
alcohol wipe or hand sanitizer/paper towel

I love to change plates to match the season, event, or decor.  But most of the 'color your own dish' tutorials out there want to make the design permanent and use a white plate.  I use a clear plate because you never need to make the paint permanent or worry about the safety of food touching it, because your design goes on the OUTSIDE of the plate:
1.  Start by cleaning the BACK of your plate with your alcohol wipe or, as I like, hand sanitizer and a paper towel.  This gets all fingerprints off:

2.  Next, using StazON ink and mounting your clear Inspired Stamp onto a piece of flexible acetate---like what they come on in our packages--stamp your design carefully, but firmly.  If you don't get a clean image, you just use the hand sanitizer/towel to clean off the stamp and start again:
3.  Once it is on, you can start to color with the markers:
4.  I put mine on the white doily because it shows the design better than just putting it on the table.  And I love the doily look behind a clear plate anyway--I took photos both ways so you can see the difference:o):

HERE'S ANOTHER WAY TO DO A PLATE:
If you don't want to take the time to make it like I did above OR if you want a Bible Verse (I love to use God's Word in a variety of ways), you can do the following method (this one is more temporary and while washing the plate above isn't a big deal, you'd want to take off the 'paper' before washing this one:
1.  Start with Re-positionable craft adhesive and spray the TOPS of your already stamped and colored images(I used His Little Ones: Winter Boy and  a verse stamp):
 2.  Put them ON THE BACK of the plate---they stick there very well but you are able to take them off later.

 Here's what this looks like:

Honestly, if you wanted to, you could just adhere them to the white doily using adhesive on the back of them instead of the front, keeping you from having to take them off the plate to wash the plate.

But these are so much fun, I do hope you will give them a try!!

Be sure to leave us a comment here letting us know what you think, and we will choose one comment from here or FACEBOOK to win the HLO: Winter Boy stamp shown in this artwork!

Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,
Antoinette
